Certification ensures that fire safety products comply with the Singapore Fire Code, function reliably during fire emergencies, and meet performance and safety standards set by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and international norms.
SCDF primarily requires certification for varying products listed under SCDF Fire Code 2023, Table 11A.
PLS Type 1b with Batch Inspection
PLS Type 2 with Market Surveillance
PLS Type 5 with Factory Inspection
To initiate your certification application, the following documents are required: Company ACRA registration, Detailed product specifications, Relevant test reports, Valid Quality Management System (QMS) certification (e.g. ISO 9001), Manufacturing process details, any additional documents as specified. Yes, it is possible. It is mandatory for a foreign entity applying for certification of fire safety regulated products in Singapore to appoint a local representative. Information and supporting documents to be provided accordingly.
Applicants and/or certified organisations’ rights and duties are stipulated in the Terms and Conditions for Fire Safety Products. All applicants and/or certified organisations shall abide by it upon signing the agreement during application.
Certification may be suspended or withdrawn depending on the severity and corrective action response.
Any appeal, complaints and/or disputes shall be requested in writing. Our team will review and evaluate the appeals submitted by the applicant. Please contact us for further clarification on the procedure.
