1. Certification and Accreditation
In today’s business environment, stakeholder’s expectations on the quality and standards of products have led to the design and manufacture of better performing and efficient products available in the marketplace.
In order to qualify, these products have to pass certain performance tests and quality assurance tests, and meet the qualification criteria stipulated in contracts, regulations, or specifications of respective certification schemes. Certification, through a certification body, would then be conferred onto these products.
While a certification body is expected to possess independence, integrity and technical competence, accreditation is an endorsement which provides a certification body with a trust mark and confidence to offer its services nationally and globally.
Singapore Laboratory Services Certification Body (SLSCB) is an independent, third-party Certification Body, accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) to ISO/IEC 17065: 2005 for being competent and fully compliant with the relevant national and international standards and/or government standards and stipulations. In addition, our product certificate is also a testament of the high standards that the client has achieved and demonstrated his competency and reliability in offering products that conform to normative documents.
SLS administers the Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS), Product Listing Scheme (PLS) and Test Certification.
Benefits of Accreditation
• Increase confidence
SAC accredited certificates instill greater confidence to those using the products; and these are widely recognized by regulators and the industry.
• International recognition
Certificates issued by SAC-accredited Certification Bodies are globally recognized by Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) members that span across 38 economies, hence, favoring your products with a strategic edge over others.
• Improved service and quality
Accreditation ensures the highest quality of products by reducing risks of unreliable test results, unnecessary retesting, reduced downtime, and cost-savings from improved productivity.

2. Singapore Laboratory Services Certification Body (SLSCB) for Product Certification
SLSCB is an independent third party certification body providing services in product certification. Based on national, international and/or governmental standard and stipulation. Our product certificate is a testament of the high standard that the client has achieved and demonstrates his competency and reliability in offering products that conforms with a normative document.
3. Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme
In order to improve water efficiency and provide a sustainable water supply for future generations, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) has stipulated that water fittings and certain whitegoods must comply with standards and requirements before they can be allowed and offered for display or sale, or advertised for use in potable water service installations.
The PUB’s Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS) is a grading system used to test products in accordance with the relevant standards and requirements. The more water efficient the product is, the higher the tick-rating will be.
At the present moment, washing machines, taps and mixers, dual-flush low capacity flushing cisterns (LCFCs), urinal flush valves and waterless urinals are labelled under the Mandatory Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (MWELS), whereas Showerheads are labelled under the Voluntary Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (VWELS). All certified products are required to bear the water efficiency labels.
Singapore Laboratory Services is both an ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Testing Laboratory and ISO/IEC 17065 Certification Body that is credible and proficient in providing testing services as well as administering the WELS certification. Our dedicated team have been trained and qualified by PUB to provide WELS certification to suppliers, retailers and installers of such fittings in order that they comply with PUB’s guidelines and regulations.
For WELS cerification enquiries, you can call +65 6686 3375 or send an email to email@example.com.
4. Product Listing Scheme
The Product Listing Scheme (PLS) ensures fire safety products and building materials conform to safety, reliability and performance standards. All products and materials that are intended for fire safety works, if listed under the PLS and its use are in compliance with the requirements stipulated in the Fire Code, would be deemed acceptable to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
SLSCB is accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) and issues Certificates of Conformity for fire safety products and building materials which are accepted by the SCDF. Depending on the scheme, clients may adopt the SLS TEST Mark on their products to showcase the product’s reliability and performance.

5. Environmental Sustainability
Singapore Laboratory Services works closely with the Singapore Environmental Council, who administers the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme (SGLS) green label product certification. In line with ISO 14024, SGLS-certified products are recognized worldwide by member countries of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) as certified products meet international standards.
SLS’ test reports and test certificates are recognized as they fulfil the green criterion required for fulfilment of the SGLS certification. In Singapore, SGLS certified products are also recognized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in their Green Mark Scheme that rates a building according to its environmental performance.
